Well, look who made it on over to the available page so quickly? It’s You Hoo! You Hoo was another victim of the economy; his former owner surrendered him when they lost housing that allowed dogs and could not afford a pet-friendly alternative. Luckily, You Hoo was surrendered to FBRN to help him find his forever home!

You Hoo is a healthy three-year-old with a handsome face and gorgeous coat! He is a very shy boy and does need time to warm up, as he was not well socialized as a puppy. He is not aggressive and will allow other dogs to dominate him. A home with older children would be best as younger, noisy children would make You Hoo nervous. He gets along with cats and dogs, but prefers more laid back canine companions. He enjoys chase and is perfecting his Frenchie wrestle! He loves to give and receive affection, but also enjoys playing with toys – especially squeaky toys and chewing on bones. He is a good mixture of active and cuddly, but needs attention and activity since he is a smart boy and will chew if bored.

House training is still a work in progress, as he was trained to puppy pads. He has shown definite improvement with scheduled potty breaks and crating when left alone. You Hoo would do best in a home that will continue to patiently work on his socialization. He would happily cohabitate with another dog, as long as the dog would not push and boss him around.

Apartment or house living is okay with You Hoo. If he lives in a city, he will need to get used to city noises. A fenced yard would be good as it gives him a space to get out and play with his toys in comfort while he is settling in to a new space. If there is no fence, You Hoo will need a quiet area to be taken to as he becomes more confident about meeting new people, dogs, and the sights and sounds of his new home.

You Hoo is okay staying at home while his family works, but he will need a mid-day break and would need to be kept in his crate to avoid accidents. At this time, he would not be a good office companion as he needs to continue his socialization. He has already come a long way while in foster care, and as long as his home continued to work with him, eventually he would likely be okay at an office.
