Javert came to FBRN when his elderly owner passed away. He's a super sweet and active Frenchie who loves to be on the go with his people. He is looking for a strong person to be his pack leader and help him stay the wonderful, well balanced dog that he is.

Overall, Javert is a healthy dog. He is housebroken, doggie door trained and crate trained though he only uses his crate to sleep in at night. He was diagnosed with mild hip dysplasia but he does not show any symptoms. With this diagnosis, it will be important to keep Javert at a proper weight.

Javert's two favorite things to do are play ball and walk. He currently walks about two miles per day. He is a little obsessive with the ball, so his play is carefully monitored. (He is required to "watch me" and take breaks from the ball when his pack leader says to.) A fenced yard will be a great way to give him some place to fetch the ball for you, but he doesn't want to play there by himself. He loves movie marathons if he can lay next to you.

Javert gets along with cats and other dogs after slow introductions. He is not dominant but like most healthy, mid-pack dogs, he will push that boundary occasionally. He backs down when confronted by a more dominant dog. Javert is looking for someone with experience in dog behavior, as he tends to get overexcited (and then growls or tries to nip) when he is overstimulated. Small children are not a good option for Javert so we are looking for an adults only household or one where the teens are responsible and experienced with dogs as well.
