Flounder is a happy Frenchie who also happens to have the most adorable ears ever! Flounder's most favorite thing to do is be with his people. Nylabones, tennis balls, and Kongs come in close behind, but don't give this little guy a stuffy toy or fluffy bed because he will pounce and try to eat it!

Flounder is a healthy boy who recently had nare and palate surgery to help him breathe more easily. He does not need to go on long walks and is a relatively low maintenance guy. He does have one quirk. At night he searches for shadows and reflections on the ceiling and the floor. He doesn't do it all the time but if something catches his eye he will pounce on it and then chew on the floor. His bottom canine teeth were worn down to the nubs as a result of this behavior in his previous home. He can be redirected with a favorite toy or bone but sometimes it takes several tries to take his mind off of it. From his reaction, we think he was teased with a laser pointer. His new family will need to be committed to work with him to help him get over this compulsion. Flounder is not an aggressive dog, but he will let other dogs know, with a bit of a grumble, it's not ok to take his toys from him while he is playing with them.

Flounder will play briefly with the other dogs in his foster home, but he can be rough and dominant, so play time is monitored. In fact, even though Flounder can live in a home with other dogs, we think he would be just fine as an only dog as well. He would much rather spend time with his person. He loves to snuggle and get on your lap or lie next to you. He can entertain himself with his nylabone as long as you are within his sight. He doesn't need long walks, just enough to do his business and check out every bush along the way.
