Hear ye, hear ye: the emperor Marcus is now available! Marcus came into rescue when his former owner could no longer afford his care. He arrived gravely ill with a stomach virus and breathing issues. After being in foster care for a few months, his health has improved and his personality is shining through. Marcus is now ready for the grand adventure of finding a forever family!

Marcus’s stomach virus cleared up and his breathing issues were helped by nares and palate surgery. He does have some mild, persistent skin allergies. His foster mom is still determining if it’s seasonal or more food related. Care will need to be taken to address his ongoing allergies. Marcus, like all Frenchies, will also develop ear infections if his ears are not regularly cleaned.

Marcus is not too picky about his ideal home environment. He dotes on an 11-year-old boy who regularly visits and also loves playing with his foster siblings, a 3-year-old female Frenchie and a 13-year-old male American Eskimo. He is even willing to share his home with cats!

As his heath improved, Marcus’s goofy personality came out. Marcus still has lots of puppy energy and loves to pay tug-of-war with the other Frenchie in his household. His other loves in life include chewing Nylabones, snuggling, and snoring! He would benefit from some basic obedience training to focus his energy. Marcus is crate trained and came in not being house broken. He now has very few accidents and will stand by the door as his signal; he will not bark though, so you will need to be alert to his signals, or take the time to teach him some. It is common for a dog to regress in a new environment, so potential adopters must be prepared to establish a schedule and be understanding of accidents.
