Ketsia is a mellow little girl who loves to spend time in a comfy lap, but she is also up for play time in the yard. She adores the children in her foster home, ages 9 and 12, and gets along famously with her English bulldog foster sister. She thinks that Nylabones and Kongs are "the cat's pajamas" -- Speaking of which, she also gets along with the cat in her foster home!
Her puppy mill life has produced few lasting effects. She can be a little timid when she meets new people, but warms up once she gets to know them. She is intimidated by stairs, so if you have stairs in your home, you may need to gently show her that they are not so scary. The only other remnant of her mill life is that, though she is now pretty well potty trained, she occasionally has the odd wee wee accident in the house. When Ketsia came in to FBRN, she had an infected ear which resulted in a hematoma, but this problem has been treated and she is now a healthy girl.
Ketsia will fit in almost anywhere with any type of family. Foster mom thinks that she would do well in either a house or an apartment as long as she is provided with enough potty breaks, though a home with a fenced yard would be ideal. She could even live with someone who works all day as long as she gets a potty break at lunch. She would be in hog heaven if her special someone could take her to work every day!
