Happy go-lucky Miss Minkie has found herself on the available page! This wrinkly little frog loves every dog and child that she meets, and it turns out the feeling is mutual: nobody can resist her silly lopsided gait and puppy breath kisses. When she was 7 weeks old, Minkie was surrendered to her local vet's office by a breeder because she has Spina Bifida. A Good Samaritan there contacted FBRN, and the rest is history!

Although Minkie has Spina Bifida, she doesn't let it bring her down. She gets around despite her condition, and her foster mom reports that she is known for doing the "zoomies" around the house when she's excited. She is particularly fond of playing with her 8-year-old foster human brother, and sources confirm that she could win awards for her master snuggling skills.

Minkie is a special frog who will need an equally special adopter to call her own. Because of her Spina Bifida she is incontinent, and will forever be clad in colorful little doggy diapers when she is not crated. Her adopter must be willing to change her diapers frequently to avoid rashes and uric acid burns on her skin. Her condition also makes her prone to urinary tract infections. Minkie is currently on a raw diet, and her adopter must be willing to continue feeding her raw food.

Minkie would do best in a home that has experience with medical issues. Ideally, she would have human and fur siblings to play with and a yard to run around in (with supervision). Because of her condition, a home with few (or blocked off) stairs is strongly preferred. Minkie would thrive with a stay-at-home human or experienced petsitter during the day. She would also make a great office dog, as long as her human can devote some attention to her during the day.
