Emalina came to FBRN very thin and hookworm positive, but she has since been given a clean bill of health. No more worms for this girl! Her foster mom reports that despite being very timid at first, Emalina has opened up to show the lovebug she really is. In fact, she loves her people so much she just follows them around; nothing makes Emalina happier than playing shadow! She even gets along with children, having curled up with the toddler in her original foster home.

Though it takes a while for her to warm up to them, Emalina does enjoy snuggling and playing with other dogs. She would probably do well in a home as an only dog, or with one easy-going fur sibling, following slow introductions. She shows no food or toy aggression, and with a little time even initiates play and likes spending time with the other dogs in the home. She has not been tested with cats, so per FBRN’s policy, she will not go to a home with feline friends.

Emalina is crate trained, and is almost house trained, only having minor accidents once in a while. Someone home with her during the day would be nice, but if not she would definitely need a mid-day break. She also doesn’t need a lot of exercise, she prefers hanging out with you on the couch or chewing her Nylabone! Though “sit” is the extent of her obedience training, Emalina’s foster mom reports that this girl is definitely food motivated (who isn’t?)! For a little treat, she can be a star pupil and quick learner.

Overall Emalina is a laid back, loving frog that would do well in any type of home, whether it’s with a single adult or a family with children. First time Frenchie applicants are fine since she is easy going and has no health issues.
