Hi guys.....so I have a new frenchie and she is currently 4 months old. When I got her I had no doubts that I would be spaying her, but recently I have been thinking about it non stop and am starting to have doubts. So I have a few questions for those of you did did spay...

1. What was your experience like?
2. At what age did you do it?
3. Any regrets?

For those that choose not to spay...what was your decision based on?

Thank you all in advance!

Hi there... 6 months, nothing negative... no change to behavior or personality, no regrets.

We had our Boston spayed at 9 months old and didn't have any issues. We waited until Wally our Frenchie was over 1 years old because he's very muscular and I wanted him to grow a bit before fixing him.

No regrets, and I will always spay/fix my dogs since I have no desire to get into breeding.

I am pro spay/neuter if not breeding.

Strictly from a bone growth point of view you should spay/neuter dogs around 1 year of age, not any earlier.

I would never not spay/neuter. I just think they are ultimately happier if they don't have hormonal fluxuations to deal with - and then there is testosterone, which is hormones on steroids.
