I feed homecooked food along with kibble, occasionally some raw but more as a topper. Since all my dogs right now are English Bulldogs, I am wondering how their diet compares to the special diet needs of the French Bulldog.

I am the same .... but given that I am home cooking my VERY wide variety of fur-kids and they are ALL doing amazing on it then I would feed a frenchie home cooked too.

Can't bring myself to feed raw ........ even as a topper!! :embarrassed:

Good answer, Sherry! I'm feeding Buster Canidae All Life Stages because that's what he was being fed when I got him. It is a 5 star food and he is doing well on it!

I know a lot of people in FBRN feed The Honest Kitchen. It's close enough to home cooked without all the work:) as most frenchies have skin itchies that can be fixed with diet;)

I feed Diva the same as my 2 EB's, all eat Fromm Salmon Tunalini. For their lunch I mix their kibble with a bit of cottage cheese and at dinner they usually get left over veggies and a little bit of left over meat.

Okay, so food allergies are common in Frenchies. My EB, Ruggles is allergic to chicken, beef, pork, lamb, eggs, dairy, corn, rice, potatoes. He eats NVI Limited Ingredient Turkey.

Sherry ... did you go back to home cooking/kibble mix or are you just feeding the Fromm right now?

So far it's been the Fromm with a veggie smoothie with probiotics, prebiotics, enzymes, flaxseed oil, Regenex all blended up with parsley, green beans, and a apple made in a processor. one spoonful a day. I really haven't given the home made since the raw change, want to get the kibble thing right with their digestion. which seems to have no transition problems at all in this the first week, even the first day had no issues. but I will have to do some home cooking to mix up the routine for them so they don't get bored. and I love the way they attack a meal that I made from my kitchen. I have given them cooked pork and cooked steak so far this week at supper time, but that's it. I'll be in DC tomorrow and won't have time to cook for them but maybe Sunday I'll do some cooking.

I have Henny's treat recipe here ... just got the ground flax seed, and rolled oats. Waiting for the bananas to really ripen and then I'm going to give it a try!!

Taste of the Wild Pacific Stream. No food allergy problems for my crew luckily.
