It happened last Saturday (November 1) but we have no idea how it happened.

he now has an ulcer forming :( He is in a cone, taking anti inflammatory, drops and an eye ointment.

Back for follow up on Wednesday.

The greenish circle on his eyeball is the size of the cut :(

That's awful ! I wish him a speedy recovery. Vet manual recommends:

1)Broad-spectrum topical antibiotic solution or ointment (e.g., triple antibiotic or oxytetracycline/polymyxin B) every 6 hours plus
2) Topical atropine 1% ophthalmic solution or ointment every 12-48 h
3)+/- oral anti-inflammatory

Most heal within 5-10 days with minimal scarring with appropriate treatment.

I’ll check the meds when I get home... working all day [emoji29]

OK, make sure it's not gentamycin or tobramycin only antibiotic eye drop since usually these eye infections are from gram positive organisms, and those two only cover gram negative.

Those two should be good, except according to the vet manual he probably should have been put on atropine as well. You shouldn't need rimadyl for very long, as it's optional and hopefully he won't be in pain for long.

How's the little guy doing today?

He was in a lot of pain, very down and just wanted to sleep. He is feeling better, wants to play, but not allowed. The cloudiness in his eye is definitely slowly going away.

Poor Cheli! Sadly I know all to well about eye ulcers. I hope he heals up with drops and doesn't need any surgery.

Update... he is fully healed, no more meds or cone. The wild man is in full throttle... chasing his brother around the living room
