The only needs that Dauphine has from a medical stand point are that she should be kept on a limited ingredient diet that is grain free. She can be a picky eater, so her foster mom recommends keeping her on the food that she currently eats since she finds it delicious. This also helps keep her mild allergies at bay.

The good news for Dauphine is that she loves the top three! Cats, kids, and other dogs are fine with Dauphine. She gets along well with all of them. She hasn't had much exposure to children, apart from a run in with a child who stepped on her, breaking Dauphine's leg and causing her to require surgery and a metal rod to be implanted. The kids she has been around were between 4-10 years old. She was very polite and gentle with them and would be just fine if her new family had older children who are dog savvy and won't do anything dangerous like try to ride her or leave the door standing open, or, of course, step on her. As far as dogs, she doesn't mind any size or type! The only time she will try and nip and bark at another dog is if a male dog is a little too humpy. This is more of her warning that she doesn't like to play this way, but then what civilized Frenchie girl does?

This girl loves to sunbathe and explore the yard. For these reasons, it would be great if she had a yard to call her own with a fence so she didn't get lost! Dauphine also loves to go on long walks. She doesn't mind if her human brings another dog either. Dauphine can be a bit of a toy thief. When one of her foster siblings puts down a toy she will go and steal it for her very own. She has never shown any toy or food aggression towards the other dogs and during play time she will play bite.

Dauphine is house-broken. She should never be crated when left alone, as it is believed that much of the damage to her teeth comes from cage chewing and trying to get out of the crate when she is left home alone in one. She rarely has an accident in the house and that seems to be if she is left home for extended periods of time. She will use a potty pad if one is left for her in the house, so that her accident can be contained!

Any type of home would do well for Dauphine as she is such a mild mannered girl. She would really thrive in an environment with active people that loved to go for walks and be outdoors. She would also love to have fur siblings that were polite and playful!

She would make an excellent office dog! She is calm, polite, and rarely ever barks. The only down side is that she would love to explore everyone and everything in your office. This could easily be fixed if there were a baby gate in place for her at the office, or if her human had an office with a door.
