Well, well, well, Charleston has made his way to the available page and let's just say he's no rag-a-muffin! If fact, we think he's the cat's pajamas and quite the hotsy totsy fellow! Okay, okay, we'll quit it with the Great Gatsby references - but Charleston is ready to dance his way into his new forever home and we're here to help him find his way!

Charleston was surrendered to FBRN when a member of his family grew allergic to him. Fortunately, FBRN was here to scoop him up and now he's looking for the perfect family.

Charleston is just barely three years old and a solid 27 pounds. Did we mention he has no medical issues? Did you read that right? Yup, Charleston is a healthy pup with no known issues. He's crate-trained and house-broken as well.

This handsome pup has been described as happy and loving. He seems to love everyone he's ever met and really comes out of his shell when he's around people. He does get a little excited and will jump a bit, but he calms down quickly and just loves to be around people. His foster mom says that above all else he is a lover and he just wants to cuddle and be around his people.

The perfect home for Charleston would be one in which he has some dog-savvy kids or another dog buddy to play with! He does great with the 4-year-old in his foster home and likes to play with him. He also seems to like all the other dogs he's encountered. He will approach other dogs with his happy-go-luck attitude, but if they don't seem to like him, he'll back down and play submissive. He's very good with other pups.

Charleston has not been tested with cats, so per FBRN policy he will not be placed in a home with feline friends. This policy is in place to keep both our pups and kitties safe.

Charleston still has lots of puppy energy and loves to play and run! He will need an environment where he can play with his toys and balls and get a couple of good walks in. He is a quick learner and knows some basic obedience. Besides playing in the yard, he enjoys chewing on his nylabones or marrow bones.

Charleston would make a great family dog as he is fun loving and energetic, and he seems to love everyone. His foster mom would love to see a family where someone can be home with him or be with him frequently as he would not do well in a situation where he is left for many hours a day. He also needs to be with someone who is energetic and willing to take the time to play and exercise him. If you have a yard, it must be fenced as Charleston is not used to being off-leash and he loves to run.

Charleston has gone to the office with his foster mom, but she crates him when she's super busy. He'll occasionally whine when he's not getting enough attention. However, he's great with all types of people (including strangers) and would probably be a good go-to-work dog. If you work outside the home, Charleston will need a mid-day potty break and walk. He just has too much energy otherwise.
