Bippity Boppity, here comes Hoppity! Hoppity was brought into FBRN after spending the first 11 years of her life living in a barn as part of a breeding operation. However, Hoppity is safe and sound now and learning what it's like to have somewhere soft to sleep and lots of goodies to fill her belly!

After being surrendered to FBRN, Hoppity had a major dental where she had lots of rotten teeth pulled! She only has two little ones left, but she's very happy about it! That means no more pain and lots of yummy wet food for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Other than her dental, Hoppity is a healthy girl, though she is a bit on the thin side and could stand to put on a few more pounds.

Hoppity is pretty good around other dogs, though she does have a bit of food aggression. Her foster fur brother is pretty submissive and just walks away when she growls at him, but if she were to be in a home with another dog she'd have to be fed separately from them. This is a common problem and is very easily fixed--feed one dog in one room and one in another!

Children are pretty neat, according to Hoppity. She's been around kids from ages 1 to 14 and gets along well with all of them! A home with kids would be just fine for Hoppity, as long as they can be taught not to pick her up and carry her. Frenchie spines are not up to getting toted around, or--God forbid--dropped.

Hoppity has never been tested with cats, but she does like to chase the rabbits in the yard. Per FBRN policy she will not be placed into a home with feline friends. This policy is in place to keep both our Frenchies and our kitties safe.

Two of Hoppity's favorite things to do are eat and sleep! We're right there with you, sister! Hoppity was a commercial breeder for 11 long years and she never really learned to play with toys. However, she doesn't mind a good belly rub so long as she can take a nice nap afterwards. Hoppity is not really a lap dog. She prefers her bed over the couch. She'll go for a casual stroll with you, too, but long walks are not necessary for Hoppity. A fenced yard for her to do her business would be ideal.

Hoppity is not quite potty trained. If you take her out to do her business she will potty, but she does not signal to anyone that she has to go. If you keep her on a strict schedule it might help. Hoppity will need a family that is okay with accidents or willing to put a diaper on her. After all, this lady of a certain age is still adjusting to life inside the house!

Crates are not one of Hoppity's favorite things. In fact, she doesn't like them at all. She also has a bit of separation anxiety. However, Hoppity's foster mom says that she keeps Hoppity baby-gated into a small area with Hoppity's bed and this seems to work just fine. In fact, she usually doesn't have any accidents when she's contained with the gate in this manner.

Hoppity does not need someone to be home with her all day, so long as she can be gated (not crated!) in a safe area with her beloved dog bed. She would be a good office dog, however, since she's such a loafer! She'd just sleep all day under your desk! But if there are other dogs in the office, Hoppity would have to be fed separately from them.

The perfect home for Hoppity might be a single person or a couple or a family! Hoppity really wouldn't mind. You don't need lots of Frenchie experience to apply for Hoppity either, a first time Frenchie owner would be fine!
