    Puppy allergies/itchy ears/skin pigmentation

My pup Rosie is eleven weeks old-the breeder said she is too young for allergies and the vet only recommends the injections.

    Rosie has the following symptoms:
-got gives on her belly (almost all gone after a week) they seemed to follow time in the grass
-red agitated third eye lid (vet said not cherry eye)
-extremely itchy ears that she scratches inside and out (vet did a deep ear clean and said no infection)
-black pigmentation on her ears, belly and hind legs

Has anyone had this or any idea what I can do? Thinking of changing her diet and watching. If the injections worked well, I would do it but also feel she might be a bit young. But she's almost ready to break skin on her ears. Any ideas so appreciated.

Did the vet do a skin scrape to check for mange?

Eukabuba puppy food from the breeder. I’d really like to change her food. Might it be a chicken thing?

She had a wellness check two days ago, the vet said they werenít concerned about mange but they also didnít do a test. Do you think It is worth pushing for?

I would do a food change to a higher quality kibble and a protein other than chicken. Some good brands are Acana, Orijen, Fromm, Earthborn Holistics, Zignature and Open Farm.

Update: edges of her ears are turning black. Has anyone ever experienced this? (Excuse the cone on pics, she ate a rock)

Poor girl. Mine has terrible environmental sensitivities and some proteins do not sit well with her, chicken being one them. I'd switch her off that kibble if possible ASAP. I quit kibble cold turkey because she had many of the same issues you are describing - itchy ears (except hers will pus filled), red, inflamed third eye lid, and very itchy belly after being in grass. We switched to raw (used duck as a safer protein) and saw a difference in a matter of days. We wipe her down with fragrance free, sensitive skin baby wipes every single time she comes back in from being outside. It is a constant battle. She is really itchy right now and just had a bath with medicated shampoo and is back on daily Zyrtec. Hope you get to the bottom of it!

Iíd switch her food to a different protein thatís less liable to cause allergies. My Frenchie has same black dots underbelly I think he developed them as he got older. They do t cause him any issues. If you can maybe keep your baby out of the grass it sounds more like an environmental allergy? My Frenchie goes through this every Spring/summer, in the Fall heís fine. I hope you get answers itís so hard, allergies are hard to get a handle of if itís not strictly a food allergy. Good luck with your beautiful baby
