Carpet shampoo

I just received a six month old male frenchie. He came from a home with all hardwood floors. As soon as we brought him home he started dragging himself across all our carpet and now it seems he might have had an allergic reaction to it of some sort. He has bumps, redness and crust is on his belly. He is going to vet in a few days but wondering what everyone uses in their carpet machines to clean their carpets. Hoping that might help a bit as we had another dog of 13yrs who passed who was not a frenchie and the carpets are quite dirty I am sure with cleaners, ect...also I am in Canada so where can I purchase a pet friendly hypoalergetic carpet cleaning solution??

I use carpet cleaning... hot water and white vinegar
