Daisy Duke is a special little lady looking for a special forever home. This adorable 8-year-old French Bulldog came to SNORT after her previous owner suffered severe health issues that left her unable to care for Daisy.
Daisy is a typical French Bulldog when it comes to her love for her people. She enjoys a good game of chase with her human and won't pass up an opportunity to snuggle with you and take a nap. Daisy loves the attention she receives from her foster family, adults and children alike. She is very gentle with children, and would do fine in a home with a dog-savvy family who understands she has to be handled gently. Daisy loves her humans so much that she doesn't care to share their attention with other animals, so a home where she is the only pet would be ideal.
Daisy suffered an injury to her back several years ago that was never addressed. This old injury doesn't appear to cause Daisy any pain, but she does have some mobility issues. Because walking on hardwood or linoleum is very difficult for her, Daisy needs carpeting or runners to keep her feet under her. Potential adopters should understand that Daisy may one day need a cart, however right now she gets around very well, given the right surfaces. A home with a lawn will be ideal for Daisy, although a fence is not necessary. Daisy cannot go for walks on concrete as she drags her feet a bit, which could cause sores. Miss Daisy's injury also prevents her from climbing stairs, so a forever home with minimal stairs would be best.
Daisy is housebroken and will let her humans know when she needs to go outside to pee. Because of her injury, she isn't aware of when she needs to poop, so she needs a family who will be able to keep her on a regular schedule. Someone who is home most of the day, or who can take Daisy to work with them, would be ideal, however Daisy will also be fine as long as someone can take her outside mid-day. Daisy's forever family must be patient with her as she adapts to a new routine, and must be accepting of the fact that she may have occasional accidents in the house. Daisy's foster mom describes Daisy as a wonderful dog who is very easy to care for once a routine is established.
The love and devotion that Daisy has to give far outweighs her mobility limitations. Those who are willing to embrace Daisy's differences and love her wholeheartedly will instantly gain a new best friend and incredible companion.
