“Dulce” means sweet treat and boy, does SNORT have a sweet treat for the lucky family that gets to adopt Dulce, the latest doggie to hit the available page!
Affectionate, loving, smart, tolerant…any positive adjective you can think of to describe a dog fits Dulce to a “T.” She gets along with dogs, especially those of a similar size to her. She is currently infatuated with the resident male Frenchie in her foster home, so she’d do well in a forever home that had other dogs, especially a male dog of similar size. She is untested with cats.
While she has not been exposed to children in her foster home, her first home had five children and she was wonderful with them all! She is not at all aggressive with toys or food. Dulce is a bit timid, though, and not a huge fan of rough and tumble play, so older children who respect that would be the best fit. Along the same lines, a home in a quiet neighborhood would be best.
She is a super laid back dog who loves to be near her people and must know where they are at all times! While Dulce does not need to be crated, if her crate door is left open, she will often relax in there – and hoard toys! That’s right, she’s a hoarder! Her foster family has found dozens of toys in her crate and if they clean them out of her crate, she doesn’t get angry – she simply collects them all over again!
Dulce is house trained and is not at all destructive; her foster family can leave her out of the crate all day. They currently do not leave her alone for longer than six hours, but she has yet to have an accident. She’d do fine with a dog sitter and would also make a wonderful – albeit distracting – coworker in the right office environment!
A fenced-in yard is not a requirement, but Dulce loves to have the freedom to roam and is accustomed to being able to freely do her business! She is fine being on a leash – and likes walks! – she just prefers to be leash-less when it’s time to take care of business.
Dulce came to SNORT with pretty typical bullie skin issues – a case of the itchies and some yeast infections. A new, limited ingredient pork diet and weekly medicated baths have made a world of difference; her fur is growing back and her once itchy ears are no problem anymore! Her forever family should ensure that a similar diet and bath routine is continued upon adoption.
Dulce is a sweet, patient and loving little girl who wants a nice, quiet home in time for the holidays. She is currently being fostered in New England. If you’d like to add this five year old, 29 lbs., sweetie to your family, please complete an adoption application today.
