Hey guys I am new to this forum and in need of some information. My Frenchie is 11 months old and has hard time breathing / gagging / vomits water frequently when drinking fast and was recommended by a vet for the airway/nare surgery , only thing is they quoted me 4600$! I am in north jersey and I couldn’t believe how expensive it was. I have pet insurance but they won’t cover cost so I am wondering if anyone has any recommended vets in North NJ that can do the surgery at a better price. Thanks guys

Make sure whatever vet you go to is knowledgeable with brachy breeds. I see so many vets recommended multiple surgeries just because the dog is a bulldog when they don’t necessarily need any.

That price seems high to me, I just had my 2 frenchies in for surgery on Nov 5 & they both got spay/neuter, nares & soft palate along with pre-op blood work, etc. My total cost for both dogs surgery with all follow up & meds was @$1,400. My vet/ surgeon isn’t a specialist but they own/breed English Bulldogs & I’ve known them for 20+ years so I felt very comfortable. I’m in upstate NY and honestly this vet tends to be on the pricey side for routine visits in my area so I was expecting more. Maybe price varies greatly depending on area but $4,000 seems high[emoji2368]

$1400 for both dogs is insanely cheap. Vet prices vary by area. In Chicago my friend paid $900 for a routine neuter on a non brachy dog.

Hey do you mind recommending a link or information on your vet so I can bring my Frenchie in for a consultation. I would greatly appreciate that ! Happy holidays !

Sorry, I missed this! My vet is Towne & Country Vet in South Corning NY. We are about 4 hours north of NYC so I donno if that’s too far for you. Dr. Anne Cary is the surgeon that we used & recommend, I’d certainly ask for her by name if you choose that route. Happy to provide more info if you decide to make the trip :)

We just had our appointment today and our estimate was 4135 for the high side and 3700.. depending if she needs her saccules done. Our insurance is covering 3369 of it but I was definitely in sticker shock when I seen the estimate.
