On my quest to find food for Picky Charlie. We're now sampling a bag of this Freshpet Vital grain-free.

Picked it up at the local Petco.

Charlie is currently eating(sort of) Honest Kitchen Beef w/ grains clusters. She really liked this at first.

Anyways, added a few of the Freshpet and she ate the whole breakfast. For dinner, she picked out just the freshpet. Same thing with the following meals. She would go back to her bowl after a few hours and finish the other kibble though.

So we just put only Freshpet into yer bowl. She is now eating instantly and all of it. Only been a week but she's doing very well. We are giving her Close to the recommendation of 1 2/3 cups. We're using a rounded 3/4 scoop per meal. Her stool has been fine. They appear smaller. She drinks a lot less water. She would typically drink about 1.5 cups per day. Easily half that now. Maybe even less.

Downside to this bagged Freshpet. 7 day shelf life once opened. Bought the 5.5# bag to try. Bag will probably last a little over 2 weeks. Once we saw there would be a lot left at the current usage rate, we tossed the bag into the freezer. Seems to freeze well and doesn't clump up. Kind of like ice cubes and a quick smash breaks it up easily.

So about $70 a month seems pretty reasonable to us. We're going to finish up this bag, then go back and use up all the Honest Kitchen clusters. We still have about 30# of them. 1 and a half bag. Then go to Freshpet afterwards. Do I hate the idea of dealing with the perishable food but if she gobbles it up instantly, then no Biggy.

So happy you found a food that she likes. They can be picky little suckers. We had to recently change food ourselves. For years we have fed FROMM grain free. Then Coup decided he wasn't going to eat it anymore. We tried a few other brands and then tried Stella and Chewy's Salmond and also the whitefish kibble and he loves it. Sometimes it's just a guessing game.
