Before applying for Peeps, please read the article about dogs from commercial breeding situations on our website.

There is so much to love about Spring -- longer days, blooming flowers, chirping birds, warm breezes, but most of all, we love sweet, timeless classics like Peeps!

At 11 years old, this delicious pied treat is no spring chicken, but don't try to tell her that! Peeps is making up for lost time after life in a commercial breeding facility. She, along with Bunnykins, Cadbury, Hoppity and JellyBelly, spent their lives in a concrete run in a barn. When Peeps emerged from that barn, she had a cough, parasites, an umbilical hernia, rotten teeth, age-related lumps and bumps, and an incredibly positive outlook on life. FBRN went to work getting her lumps and bumps checked out (they were harmless), and having her dewormed and spayed. She also had a much-needed dental procedure, leaving her with only 8 toofs! She met each challenge like a champ, her good nature never faltering. According to Peeps, life outside the barn is so wonderful, it would be silly to let a little surgery ruin her day.

Peeps loves nothing more than to give kisses and receive snuggles. She is learning the joys of toys and family life. She lives with two children, aged 9 and 12, in her foster home and is friendly with other dogs. She just doesn't seem to have an aggressive bone in her body. Being an equal-opportunity lovebug, she even gets along with kitties! Knowing what kind of life she has endured in the past, it's a joy to watch Peeps enjoying the outdoors. She rolls around on the grass, and basks in the warm rays of the sun. For this reason, it would be lovely if her forever home could offer her a securely fenced yard. It would also be wonderful if Peeps could have a stay-at-home person to love. Alternatively, she is also a candidate for accompanying her person to the office every day. She is crate trained, and has been working very hard to master potty training. Apparently, one can teach an old dog new tricks!
