Zing is a 5 year old husky lady trying to lose that winter weight (1 more pesky pound!) and get ready for bikini season. Her black fur, studded with gray at her muzzle, shines in the light and just makes you want to pet her.

Her owner surrendered her from a suburb of Chicago and now she struts her stuff in the city itself. She loves going on walks and seeing new sights and smelling new smells. She enjoys stopping to smell the roses...and the rocks, and the errant wrapper she may find. Her favorite past time however, is stretching out on the couch and chewing on a bone or lying there living the doggy life.

She can be a fierce defender of the home against invading vacuum cleaners (the bane of all dogs) or any animals that pop up on the TV screen. Independent and pretty low maintenance, she will come over to let you know it's time for some petting to her chest or behind her ears. Zing will stare at you thankfully and show her appreciation by kissing your hand and/or arm.

Zing currently is staying with her foster mom and foster frenchie brother. They get along great and play together all the time. Her foster mom works all day so a dog walker comes for a 25 minute walk during the day for her and her foster brother. Otherwise she is crated for the 8 hour day and does great! Zing hasn't had any accidents while crated but occasionally has accidents in new environments. She hasn't had any accidents in her foster home since the first day of arriving so is completely house trained.

Zing is very inquisitive, so along with her penchant for smelling anything she can, she also enjoys staring out the window, looking around the neighborhood and making sure nothing fishy is happening...just to keep up on current events. She is not big on fetch but has been known to go after a ball from time to time. Zing likes to be the boss. Her foster brother is very submissive so she usually gets her way. She has had some issues with other lady dogs on an overnight trip she had without her foster family. She would do best as a solo pet but if the right family is out there with an easy going male frenchie we would definitely take this into consideration.

Zing was an owner surrender to our rescue because her home life had a recent change with a baby coming into the family. She wasn't receiving the attention she had been so accustomed to and she completely shut down. While she gets along with kids she meets, Zing prefers they stay out of her house so she would be better off in a home with no small children.

She does have some allergies, mostly environmental, which she takes a pill for daily. While she does like any people food she can get her little paws on she can not have turkey or salmon. Since her move into the big city she has acquired a taste for the finer things in her food bowl (Fromm's Lamb and Lentil) served to her in a glass or ceramic bowl as plastic irritates her little mouth. Monthly food and medication costs come to around $60/month...a small price to pay for an adorable adoring little lady dog in your life. Since she is such a princess, she needs her lady parts wiped after every bathroom break.

Anyone who meets her says the same thing, "What a sweet girl!!!" and she really is. Once you give her some loving and look at her puppy dog face you won't be able to stop yourself from falling in love.
