Hello all!
So about 4-5 days ago, we were out in the park with my 19 week old monster :gremlin:, tossing a ball around and at one point she kinda of jumped up and landed funny. She didn't yelp or show any signs of pain, but she did pick up her hind leg and was limping noticeably.
We took her to our vet the next day who prescribed an anti-inflammatory and restricted activity (much to the puppy's delight! ) and suggested that in a week to 10 days, we do x-rays if it hasn't resolved. Since then, the limp has gotten a little better, she definitely doesn't hold it up all the time, but every now and then, especially when she goes faster than she should (*ahem* zoomies *ahem*), I can see that she still favors it a bit. Less and less each day but still on day 5 I can detect a little lameness (also when she first wakes up from a nap).
She is my first Frenchie puppy (we got our 12 year old Kora when she was already pretty much out of the puppy phase) and my whole life I've had large breed dogs, so my fear of course is that she tore her CCL. I'm a little worried that we broke our puppy. But from what I've read (which isn't much, when I google "frenchie" and "torn CrCL" I don't get much), it doesn't seem like a common injury. Especially so young!
So I'm wondering, more to placate myself while we wait until we do the x-rays than anything else, if anyone else has experience with torn ligaments, and what the outcome was.
...
I really hope I didn't break the little monster!
