Time and time again my girlfriend and I are going back and fourth about what to do right now.
chowder just got his 3rd shot. He has 1 more to go (which is his rabies shot)

Is it safe to take chowder out and take him to work (no dogs at our work place, however theres alot of people here)

to walk him outside my house (I like in LA, people are filthy there is dog poop on every grass patch, and alot of dogs too.)

also can we take him to parks where its not frequently visited by dogs (not a dog park but a regular park)

Its frustrating, i think if we were to wait 3 more weeks we might go crazy.

Thank you please let me know what you think.

I would talk to my Veterinarian. I would wait a week after the last vaccines at least though. Is he on a heartworm preventative? Most have a dewormer for intestinal worms also. That's a big plus especially when they are walking where other dogs have gone potty.

I am not a vet and I cant promise nothing wont happen but in my opinion you should take him out.
Maple only had two sets of shots (Distemper/Parvo) and Ive been taking her out since she was about 10 weeks old and she has never been sick and her titer show perfect antibody levels.
Dont bubblewrap! Thats the worst you can do. All these people that were bubblewrapped when they were kids are the ones with the most severe allergies and illnesses later on.

I dont know how common rabies is in your area but usually you shouldnt have to worry unless you let him run somewhere deep in the woods where he might get bitten by a wild animal.
Keep him on the leash for now and away from other animals feces and you will be fine :)

A general rule of the vaccines is 2 weeks after the 3rd distemper/parvo vaccine you should be able to venture out into the world. If you live in an area of high parvo infection that general rule might need to be altered. As far as the rabies vaccine.....it's no big deal to go out and about ultimately, unless your dog bites someone..... Then there will be some problems.

there are no wildlife here running around what so ever. Other than cockroaches and rats. haha

the only thing is i see flies and dog feces everywhere, when i go out. Its pretty disgusting. Koreatown is a dense populated area, so there are alot of dogs and little space. Maybe ill wait for 2 weeks till i start walking him around my own neighborhood, but ill take him out to hancock park (where rich is an understatement. These are old LA money wealthy neighbohoods) haha

thank you all. and where can i get this titer test done @?

Like Maple's Mommy, I can't promise anything won't happen but....we took Hudson out after his third set (he had two done at the breeder, third one right when we got him). He has always been fine. I live in an apartment complex that is swarming with dogs. He even got to play with the other Frenchie here because I knew for a fact he was vaccinated. I would've gone insane with him cooped up inside and he would have too. My 2 cents..

Take him out! He's missing a key window for socialization with other humans and dogs. Bear's been going out since Day 1. We watch for dog crap, harmful materials, etc. but I say get him out there! In the rare case he catches a bug, you can treat it. But he'll never get these vital weeks of socialization back :)

That's my reckless opinion :P

i wont live in fear anymore! hahhaa. he'll be coming to work with me tomorrow :)

as far as socialization. Hes been going to socialization class for 3 weeks now, He does great with people (took him to a very busy street in LA)

This is just for his daily walks and potty training.

thank you all for your tips.
