mine isnt completely round, only the sides near the nose has a bit of a curve...just isnt completely big fat round ones. im wondering since shes only 6 and half months old...i was told the skull continue growing and making the eyes look smaller...if so how many months old would she have to be until the eyes are fully "IN"??

cuz she looks kinda funny when shes looking at me straight on...i can see a bit of white (she isnt wall-eyed) on sides near the nose.

Can you post a pic of her? here is Hazel at about 7 months of age.

i realize whats wrong with her eyes. the ones near the nose area, the full circle has been cut off...like theres almost a straight line, but slightly curved...

the other shape thats near the ears are fully round, she kinda looks derpy when looking straight ( i see alot of white near the nose lol ...i only had her for a week and i knew there was something bothering me about the eye 2nd day i got her.

i want to return her and wait for a more refined frenchie in the future.

edit : vet says shes a bit wall-eyed. but the skull might grow to tighten the spot or not.

Oh I think I now know what you mean.

But why return her because of that? I mean in the end thats up to you but I wouldnt bring my little pup back because of a 'cosmetic' misfortune.
Did the vet say it was anything major? Or could they later on perform surgery and correct it maybe?

Usually a dog who is wall eyed is just fine... it is purely a cosmetic thing and does not cause the dog any physical problems. Unless you are planning on showing this dog, I wouldn't consider this issue as a reason to return it to the breeder. Besides, the dog is young and may grow out of the issue some or even completely.

i was reading about this

"One thing not mentioned in the Breed Standard is that both eyes should be able to look at you at the same time. “Wall-eye” (where the left eye looks to the left and the right eye to the right) is a fault, and reduces the show value of a Frenchie.

When Frenchie puppies first open their eyes (somewhere around ten days of age), they may appear wall-eyed. By the time they are five weeks old, the eyes should be coming around. If they are still wall-eyed at eight to twelve weeks of age (when many puppies are sold), then there is a likelihood they will stay that way."

she is 6 1/2 months old. im aware she isnt full grown yet. its the skull that would have to grow from the outer layer to tighten the eyes in ....which im not even sure if its capable of doing that anymore since shes almost 7 months old.

it just bothers me a bit (nagging thing that u want to get rid of or FIX!) when shes looking at me in a certain way. like i said i only had her for a week. i can always be patient and get another frenchie that i would feel more content with.

at the end, im not neglecting her...she is giving affectionate/love, and praising, training and treats.

she will be reunited with her family (they have like 10+ frenchies) and an owner more deserving of her and annie too.

Obviously it is up to you to return her but it makes me incredibly sad. As a mother of a kid and a Frenchie. No dog will be perfect. Your next pup may have a longer tail or a fatter nose. She has been yours for six months? And you could give her back so easily? My Bella has some serious vertebrae issues and even if I had known that the day after I got her, she wouldn't be going back.

I suppose if you plan to show her, but it doesn't sound like that's your plan, just that it bothers you. I would be more of a smartie and say, I am sure there are things about you that irk her, but she still probably gives you her undying loyalty and love.

Obviously, it is your choice, but as a Mom to a not perfect Frenchie I would say to you I don't think you deserve another one. One day that puppy, maybe even two years down the road could break its leg and not be perfect anymore, would you surrender her then?

I am sure you will take offense to me, which honestly is just fine because I think you should be ashamed of giving back a loyal Frenchie all for her eyes not being perfect. Feel free to blast me back because honestly anything or excuse you give will never change my mind on you.

BellaMayBulldog - you managed to beautifully sum up exactly what was going through my mind. My nose is too big and my chin is too prominent, but I'm fortunate that Bisou doesn't seem to mind. She loves me just as I am. And I wipe her butt when she needs it. We're great partners :)

ive only had her for one week. ONE WEEK. dont worry about it! theres a reason why the breeders had a bad rep...was told the day before but ignored the message from the CKC registration members...and when they showed the pictures on the website, it would NOT show her face straight up (they were hiding her eye problems) so it made sense why she was the last pick litter.

i decided on a red fawn on the next one, she was a blue brindle with an awesome personality. so theres 2 reasons why i took her back. i looked at the other dogs eyes and it gave me a calming demeanor, but hers gave me a bit of a reaction where i would go crazy for a bit and pet her hard. it wasnt good for me and red fawn to me is what i prefer in a certain color tone. SO CUTE! I LOVE MAPLE!

id be ok with the longer tail or fatter nose whatever since i did EXTENSIVE research before and after i got my pup, so i'd know exactly what to look at when purchasing my red fawn frenchie.

the thing about her eyes is i tried to overcome it but its a thing that just flat out bothers me cuz i always look at her eyes (like human + dog or human + human relationship) so would u spend 12-15 yrs with somebody everyday with wall-eyed problems and pupil being cut off the round part? its hard to explain with words, i'd guess u'd had to see it when she was looking straight at u. it was a turn-off. ( its like ill be her friend always but when it comes to a relationship everyday for 12-15 yrs, then its something i wont consider)

i know i made the right decision anyways, and i am going to get a red fawn next, not a blue.

You missed my point. Completely. Again, whatever excuse you make up or "extensive research" you try to throw at me, I am still of the mind that you don't deserve the love of a Frenchie. Lol. Man, I would hate to be your wife/husband/partner. I imagine you saying if said person gains weight, or god forbid loses a limb, "I have tried to overcome it but it's a thing that just flat out bothers me.", LOL. I am half deaf and wear hearing aids, just got them one month ago. You can see them when I pull my hair in a ponytail, even though they are amazingly small, my poor husband could say to me, "it just flat out bothers me! I am trading you in for a red head with good ears!" Lol. Sweet puppy can come live with me. I don't mind staring at her "wall eyes" forever!

Go get your red fawn, and I pray she stays perfect for ya for her whole life.

Maybe next time don't post such a negative post? Maybe if she isn't your forever dog you just say that instead of telling us you are surrendering her because her eyes are too close together and you can't stand looking at her. It sounds very shallow, and shallow people just don't deserve the loyalty a Frenchie gives! Period.

ive had her for one week, the message i got from the ckc registeration tried to warn me about the breeders, but i ignored it... THE DAY before i picked her up. it was a message.

now i understand why they never took pictures of her with her face looking straight up at the camera.

so i took her back, its all good.

OK, let's not get out of hand here. We do not allow bashing here. I'm sorry your baby didn't work out, but that's up to you and you have to get the pup that is going to be right for you. The pup you returned I hope will get a loving home that it deserves. To me if you are not going to show the pup, it really doesn't matter, but again, you have to be happy with the pup you have, or it will know it, and the pup will never really be happy, so I am glad you returned the pup and hopefully you will find the one you like and that will make both of you happy. Are you in Canada? If so, then I understand why you are getting a CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) pup. If you are in the US, I would get an AKC pup and not a CKC (Continental Kennel Club) pup. Let us see your new pup if and when you get it.

yes sir, i am in canada.

however some breeders that lives in canada also have a AKC registration because of the blue/chocolate breeds.

ChronBong that's interesting about them having AKC because of the blue/chocolate, because that color is not an acceptable color here. Do you know if the Continental Kennel Club is in Canada too?

AKC does register the blues and I think the chocolates as well... You just can't show them. Both of my girls are blue variations and are fully AKC registered. For the record, they were born from a breeding between a fawn and white dog to a black brindle dog, and are not the result of blue parents.
