Louise is 7 months old now and day by day gets more aggressive towards our pug. When she was a lot smaller it was more of an annoyance and rough play. Now, she really seems to be aggressive in an attacking way vs a playful way. Our pug is old and doesn't try to fight back but he is very shaken and seems upset after Louise goes after him.

Louise started a daycare program while we are doing obedience training. She plays great with the other dogs with no signs of aggression.

The trainer suggested a loud can or water bottle filled with change and to shake it very hard when she becomes aggressive towards him.

Looking for any other advice. I am most worried about one of my young daughters trying to break them apart.

She is such a sweet girl most of the time. Help!

she is trying to rule the roost.... i would use 'nothing in life is free' with her. At home she will be very different than at daycare because she knows she can not get away with anything while under the watch of the daycare crew. While at home, she knows what and who she can push around. Leash her if you have to and tether her to you to keep her in line and understanding that she does nothing without you letting her -- at 7 - 8 mths they start to become the rebellious teenager and try to break the rules and push the envelope

I agree with Christine. You need to nip this in the bud, now. She needs to learn her place and that aggression will not be tolerated by you, the alpha.
One good thing to do is to give her lots of exercise and wear her out. A tired dog is a good dog. Read about NiLF that Christine suggested.
I don't have a lot of experience with behavioral issues, so hopefully others will chime in soon.

Yep, I agree with Christine 2bullymama good advice.

It doesn't sound like the can of coins would be a good solution as it may upset your pug. If your frenchie was the only dog in the house this may work, but may be a bit confusing to the pug.

Does anyone else have any advice on the aggression issue? We had Opie fixed and that helped for a few months... now he's back at trying to be top dog, with our 9 yr old male terrier.

i would use 'nothing in life is free' --- he needs to know and listen to you and all humans in household must follow the same rules

Terrific, thank you VERY much!! I've downloaded the pdf and will read the heck out of it. :) Thanks again!

It is amazingly easy.... the harder part is getting everyone in the house to be consistent! Good luck

the former has already made a good point.
the frenchie is trying to take the place of boss
when you feed them or walk them, put your frenchie in the last priority, e.g. let the pug finish eating and Louise sit right next to it to watch, feed Louise when the pug is finished
