Our vet finally received Apoquel (it was back ordered) and we started Jake on it this morning. Hoping his allergies will get in check. Although the allergy shots helped a little, he was still licking his paws and scratching. The vet thinks there is a very good chance he will respond well. Wish us luck.

I really hope it works for jake! Hope to hear good news soon!

I hope it works for him and he gets some relief.

Apoquel is like a miracle drug for many dogs. I hope it helps him.

Oh, fingers crossed!!! Here's hoping, jake!!

ive been thinking about jake - might be too soon to tell. any signs of relief?

Apoquel works wonders for Jax! Unfortunately this spring seems to be a bad one with pollen flying all over the place so Jax has been a little extra itchy and chewing his paws lately but I'm pretty sure that if he wasn't on the Apoquel, he would be 10x worse. Good luck!

I know a few Bulldogs on apoquel and they have had great results.... best of luck, I do hope he gets some relief

Good luck! I here this stuff is amazing!

By day 3, Jake vomited twice and he is quite lethargic. No licking or scratching though. I am going to speak with the vet about reducing the dose I guess.

I had a foster who was relinquished because of severe allergies, and Apoquel, along with a diet change to raw ground goat, and very frequent medicated baths worked wonders for him. I doubt we would have had such a success without the Apoquel. I am thinking of putting my Travis on it, but my derm vet is a bit hesitant and recommends allergy shots first.

It just amazes me that someone can give a dog up because they are suffering miserably from allergies. Apoquel is a tough call because it has not been out that long and so there's not much info. or long term studies. Jake has been on allergy shots for almost a year and a half with little improvement. He is allergic to dust mites, trees, grasses, weeds, etc. so it's worse certain times of the year. I spoke to the vet this morning and he suggested a little pepcid ac for the stomach upset and take it down to one pill per day instead of two.

How are the Apoquel results? What dose is being given? Do you mind sharing how much you pay per pill? My vet has wanted to give it to Q, but hasn't had any luck getting it in stock. She is doing well on a daily dose of Temaril-P, so roughly $1.00 per day to see results, is sooo worth it. When the Temaril-P is showing results, I often only give it every other day.

XoXo from Quella La Roux and her mommy too!

Jax has been on Apoquel for about 2 years now. I switched him to raw in November and that has helped a lot but a couple months ago Jax spit out his pill without me knowing until the next day and he was super itchy and licking his paws constantly. It is Spring again and we have been having a really high pollen count so Jax has been a little more itchy and paw licking than usual but I bet he would be a lot worse if he wasn't on Apoquel. Jax is allergic to everything green outside.

Before Apoquel, Jax was on Temaril-P and while it worked, it is not ideal for long term use as it is a steroid.

Apoquel is given based on the dog's weight. Jax gets 5.4 mg per day and a 30 day supply costs me $48.00.
