Hello,

Three weeks ago we welcomed our second frenchie home, Brewster. We picked him up at 10 weeks and at that point he was being fed raw food. We messed up by feeding him Wellness puppy abruptly, which the breeder said would be ok. 2 days later we started to see blood in his stool, diareah and irritation/ constipation. We quickly went to a bland diet to ease up. All stool tests came back negative and we were told by the vet he is as healthy as can be. After 4 days on a bland diet we started feeding him his raw food which he loves. His stool seems a bit better and less constipation however there is still some blood in his stool, bright red. He has only been on the raw diet for about 5 days at this point. Should I be worried or is he still just adjusting to changes? His energy and everything seems great, very playful. Please give me your input. Thank you very much.

:hmm: this is a tough one. Did he still have blood in his stool on bland diet or did it come back once you started him on raw diet again? I've never heard of this being a side effect of feeding raw....

You may want to try giving him some 100% pure canned pumpkin to help ease his digestive tract.

Very interesting, usually the bloody stool will go away once his bowl settles down. I am curious too, did the blood go away on the bland diet?
