Hi all-
As some of you may remember our now 1 yr old frenchie Boo began having seizures about 3-4 months ago. They have been under control for the most part besides an occasional incident now and again usually a single seizure. But this morning she had cluster seizures (4 since about 3am to 8am) she has stabilized and is once again active after a vet check up. She is still slightly disoriented but I know that is pretty typical. What concerns me is her constant walking around and disinterest in things she would normally be interested in. She has not stopped walking around the apartment back and forth for hours now. Has anyone had experience with this? She seems quite restless when she would usually be exhausted after a seizure. Thanks ahead of time for any info.

I'm sorry to hear about this. Sometimes they are confused for a while after they have been having seizures. What did the vet say?

Yea she is typically disoriented and confused for a little while after her single episode seizures but this time it seems to be lasting quite a while. I'm hoping the bout of 4 seizures this morning hasn't caused any serious damage. While at the vet she was still very lethargic so he didn't comment much on that but they did up her phenobarbital dosage.

A friend has a Bulldog with epilepsy -- what you describe sounds a lot like her Vegas. She gives him treat balls to help with the mental stimulation after a seizure

Poor Boo. :( I don't have any experience with seizures but I wish you and Boo good luck!! I do hope she'll be OK.

Yes, that does sound normal form what we hear from an other owner who has an English with seizures. She says Vegas will pace for a while after a seizure.

I had a foster Frenchie with cluster seizure idiopathic epilepsy. She would be quite out of it for a while following her seizures. I would highly suggest consulting with a board-certified neurologist because there are other medications and combination of medications that can be used with better success.
I've had a couple of people swear that putting an icepack on the back of their neck just as they are starting to seize helps bring them out of it. I hadn't tried it, so I don't know, but certainly couldn't hurt to try.

Are you giving any medications currently to help with seizures?

Has Boo's seizures being diagnosed as epilepsy or what is causing them?
Sounds awful. Wishing her all the best.

Update:
Boo has returned to her normal self. It took a little more than 24 hours but we are happy she is back to her little goofy self. She paced back and forth all night but finally fell asleep the day after her seizures. She has been diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy.
