Marie Laveau has raised bumps on her neck. When she scratches them (and when I first noticed them when I was brushing out her coat) the bumps falls out with attached hair and it leaves a spot which bleeds.

I gave her an oatmeal bath yesterday but she still seems itchy.

She eats Canidae with a teaspoon of coconut oil every other day.

Please help.

Thank you in advance.

Almost sounds like a skin infection maybe caused by allergies? Or possibly fungal. Try veterinary formula antiseptic and anti fungal shampoo (made by synergy labs)-I swear by this product. You may need to re-evaluate what you are feeding as it could be a mineral/vitamin deficiency or a food intolerance.

I'm just so upset by this. And well, she sleeps with us and all of our bedding is white so I'm trying to figure out something there too. I don't want her thinking she's being "punished" for something.

His sounds like staph infection which is usually from weaken immune system that comes from possible allergies.... Will need strong antibiotics for like 3 weeks and then identify the allergens and some how avoid or manage

The hair falling out is characteristic of staph, I agree.

But when my boy just had a staph infection the fur fell out and left dry skin patches, no raised bumps or bleeding.

Our vet ask told us that it can be from a one time thing (brushing them and their skin was more sensitive in that spot and it triggered the infection) or environmental allergies. Basically anything.

I'd take a trip to the vet!

I agree with blushy about seeing a vet. You do not want the symptoms to spiral out of control. They may do a skin scraping and tell you what's going on.

Agreeing with the others! I think you should see a vet to be certain and to get the proper treatment going. Hope everything gets solved soon! Keep us posted
