I'm using the can pumpkin for Louie's soft stool and food transition and I was wondering if it's ok to use every day in one of his meals? Also when I open a can how long is it good In the refrigerator?

I use canned 100% pumpkin each day with my little Stella. I mix about a tablespoon in with her dry kibble 2x daily. It helps so much with her digestion and her tooting! :) My vet said that this was fine, as it is a great source of fiber and low in calories. I use it for about 3 days before I throw the rest of the can out. I wish I could get smaller cans of the pure pumpkin, but they don't seem to sell them anywhere.

Yep, won't hurt a thing using everyday, and I would say it will last about 3 or 4 day in the fridge. We have tried freezing it, but it doesn't freeze very well. Maybe someone will have a better trick to freezing it than I know.

I've kept it in the fridge for up to 5 days, but I probably would not go past that... no real reason, but it seems to be a good timeframe for me

Thanks guys it is so comforting to have a place to go to and ask questions!! Everyone has been wonderful!!! :)

I am using it with Pierce since his tummy isn't too sure about the Fromms puppy food yet. He has only been transitioning to it a week and he loves it so I hope he will get used to it. I am watching how much he is eating, too.
I am trying putting the pumpkin in an airtight Rubbermaid container and see if it makes a difference. I had thought of freezing, too, but guess that idea is out!

I was going to pick some of this up from Kahoot's today when I go for Bear's canned Fromm. Thought it might be a good addition to his diet.
