Special needs allergy dog.
FBRN's Cassie has got the most soulful eyes and wrinkliest face, and she's putting them to good use wooing her potential suitors. Could you be the lucky one that gets this frog? Cassie's humans broke up and she went to live with her dad, but he just couldn't afford to treat her allergies. Off she went to FBRN, where she's been lounging on her foster family's couch and schmoozing with her resident canine siblings. Cassie is an all-around excellent Frenchie who will bring loads of joy to the lucky family who snatches her up.
Cassie is a very laid back frog who isn't very fond of exercise (not even daily walks. No sir, not for her, she says! Florida is HOT!). She is submissive, but she still has that stubborn Frenchie streak and sometimes wants to do things her way. Cassie loves all dogs and people, and really just wants to snuggle with everyone she meets. Cassie is housebroken (if let out every few hours), crate-trained, and plays with toys but loses interest pretty quickly.
Cassie has allergies and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), which requires a special diet and some pill popping to manage. She is currently on Apoquel once a day, which has greatly minimized her itchiness, along with cellulose (fiber) and Tylosin (antibiotic) for the IBS. She is also on topicals and will require bathing at least once a week to soothe her skin. Cassie will do best with someone who understands the unique requirements of a dog with allergies and isn't adverse to frequent trips to the dermatologist. We'll give preference to someone with experience dealing with an allergy dog. Tell us about your experience and your vet in your application.
Cassie would make a great house dog, office dog, apartment dog....you name it. A house without a lot of stairs is preferable, 'cause this girl is, well, kind of lazy. She would thrive with somebody who is home all day or who could take her to work with them; she is used to have people home with her and dogs around her, and would really prefer to keep it that way!
