I mentioned in another post that I brought Danté home with a runny nose and congestion. Took him to the vet the next day & he wasn't overly concerned. Danté is ravenous & also quite wild at playtime. The vet said it will most likely run its course. If it's viral, nothing they can do. Anyway, I gave him a quarter of a children's benadryl & it didn't seem to help. The vet said to update them Monday morning & they'd go from there. Should I demand to be seen?!

Sincerely,

Nervous mommy.

It could just be some allergies, and may clear up in a few days. Hazel's nose has been a little runny here lately too.

I just don't want him to be uncomfortable. He's only ten weeks old -- is that young for allergies? And why didn't the benadryl help? I just want him the stuffy nose to go away. Should I have an xray of the lungs in case?

At 10 weeks I'd be concerned too.... Take him back on Monday.

Agree I would err on the side if caution and take him in again just to be sure.

Next Monday. If he's still stuffy i'm gonna have them do an xray. It seems to be getting better, but still stuffy. Snot is clear and he wants to eat & play all the time, so hopefully nothing too serious.

Is he sneezing? Wheezing? anything other than a little runny nose? My boys get runny noses sometimes too.

He sneezes sometimes when he is sniffing around. He blows snot out in my face often. His breathing is much less noisy... Right now almost silent. Almost.
