If I have to crate my frenchie for an extended period I.e when I go to work is there any essentials I should be leaving in his crate? Thank you

How long will he be crated?

If you are doing this frequently, how about a "play-pen" area around the crate?

You could put add a pad there so he won't need to soil the crate.

If a remember correctly, your guy is still fairly young and he may not be able to hold going to the bathroom. Can you either have someone come over to give a bathroom break or maybe confine him to the kitchen with some pee pads? Or as suggested, put the crate inside of an Xpen and leave a pad.

How old is Bentley? keep in mind... they can only hold their bladder for 1 hour more than they are months old.

Ya he's still young only 10 weeks but the issue is the breaker we got him from was feeding him crap and obviously his amine system did not take well to one of the ingredients so we are trying to change him over to something more healthy

Ya I think we will try the xpen thank you for your suggestions

Good idea on the xpen if someone can't come home to let him out for potty breaks during the day. We gated Wally off in the kitchen when he was too young to be crated all day. He ate the pee pads so we used newspaper, which he didn't eat for some odd reason.

Hi!
My frenchie is 4 months old. I decided against the crate from day one because two days out of the week she has to be put up for about 4 hours. So instead, we bought two playpens and hooked them together. One side of the playpen has her pee pad and the other side has her bed, chew toys, and water. It works so great! I also decided against putting her in a closed up room and put her playpen in the front room (which is only carpet). I bought a tarp the size of the playpen to put underneath and then put non-toxic kids play mats on top of the tarp (so it doesn't look tacky lol) just in case there happens to be an accident its easy clean up. Bambi loves her playpen so much she actually naps in it on her own when we are home. I hope this helps! ;)
