Yes, Jax is 7 and he gets it. His last one was in May. I have the vial ready to go for when he starts to get itchy. He had been getting one every 10-12 weeks but this is the longest he has gone so far.

Wow- I was going to make a Cytopoint post today! Glad there already IS one. I got Daphne her very first injection this past Friday evening. She is almost 4 years old. The first night, my husband and I must have looked like complete lunatics because our jaws were on the floor...she didn't itch one time. No licking whatsoever, and that dog usually licks her paws for about 20 minutes straight before bed as I'm trying to fall asleep. We're like, "It's only been a couple hours! This stuff is a miracle!"

Fast forward to day 3 and 4, she is licking (but MUCH less) and rubbing along the walls/couch/coffee table (but again, MUCH less). So, I was going to ask loyal Cytopoint users on here, if this med usually eliminates itching or just greatly reduces it or is there a chance Daphne didn't respond to it other than the first day or so and it is already wearing off? The vet said to expect her to need another injection in 4-8 weeks which was discouraging because I read that others can sometimes go 10-12 weeks between injections. Obviously I'd rather have that scenario!

Michelle, I don't mean to highjack your post. I can make a different thread if you prefer!

Jax still licks his paws. I think every dog is different so it could just significantly reduce the licking and itching.

I think we’ve gone 6 weeks now since our first injection for 1yo Maple and her symptoms have gone entirely. I’m starting to see her belly rash return and it’s time for her 1 yr vaccines so we’ll be doing her next one right away here.

I don’t think her symptoms were quite as severe as Daphne’s seem and she wasn’t too bad with the paw licking - she would crawl and drag her tummy on the floor and would scratch herself raw under her arms. Like you, I was in shock the first day after the Cytopoint was administered as her symptoms were instantly gone, but for us there hasn’t been a recurrence of the itching & scratching just yet.

Perhaps the more you do it and keep up with the injections, the more her system will adapt and overtime the symptoms may be less and less present for her. Best wishes!

We had to work up to the 8 weeks with Lambeau... he does still itch his ears a few times a day, but they are clean, just some wax, where as before they were dark and dirty.

Michelle,
Did you decide if you are going to try a Cytopoint injection or not? Have you tried anything else that hasn't worked? Are you seeing licking and itching? Infected ears? Sneezing? Goopy eyes?
