well i switched my 14 month old to adult dry food, taste of the wild, did it slowly, 25% then 50% then 75% and so on. now as soon as she is switched, also just bought a new bag of i what i switched her to, she has Diarrhea, i figure it has to be the food, after all she wasn't doing it before. id blame the new bag but my pug is eating the same stuff and seem fine. this taste of the wild im suppose to be able to switch between flavors without any problems, at least i thought. this is the only common factor in all of it. she was on puppy food thats why i switched her to adult. what ive done now is switch them both, her and my pug, to what my pug was eating, taste of the wild adult but not for small breed. my pug has eaten this type for years with no problems. started her on some pumpkin. of-course its the weekend now so the earliest i could see the vet would be Monday. she seems fine, active, alert and playful. not sure how long the pumpkin will take. dont think ill be getting much sleep this weekend.

How is she this morning? Is the poo watery or just very soft?

she seems about 75 - 85% fine. its not like water but really loose. still giving her the some pumpkin and a 1/2 a Bayer probiotic soft chew. something else i just remembered is that she just had her adult 14 month old shots on the 13th. i almost think this started happening shortly after, coming on gradually, not sure, im so worried about her. and cant see a vet until Monday. something else i noticed is that neither my pug or her seem to care to much about there food in the morning lately. i had my baby on Taste of the Wild for puppies and my 8 year old pug on Taste of the Wild Wetlands Canine, gradually switched them to Taste of the Wild for small breed, that way they could both eat the same food. now i switched back to Wetlands Canine, the pug has always loved it, but still neither seem to happy about it, they eat all of it but dont have the old enthusiasm they use to have for it. they do better in the afternoon eating its just in the morning. why this has to happen on a late Friday. ive searched the web and it can be so many different things. i just pray her stool hardens up some this week end. at least late yesterday evening she was playful active.

well she just went again and i can see some small twigs and a really tinny pebble. she also looks like she is really pushing to get this stuff out, which seeing as its runny she shouldnt. found a close by vet that is open today so ill be calling at 8:00 to get her in.

Sounds like she got into something.... and it could also be allergies messing wth your Pug. my guy gets runny poo when his allergies are kiking in.

keep us posted and I hope she is not sick

she is having a hard time going then it comes out liquid, but she still tries to keep going so im thinking there is something blocking her partly. i see the vet at 2:00 this afternoon. if its something partly blocking then i hope it can be removed without surgery. ill find out at 2:00.

Any update?

she is fine. the Dr gave her a couple shots, and some special food for her to eat for a few days. some meds to take twice a day also. will transition her back onto her food slowly to see if its the food,Vet says she doesnt think so. she might of just eaten something that didnt agree. now just to get her balanced again. a lot of worrying set aside. well thats why its best to take them to the vet and put your mind at rest. if its nothing then you know, if it is, then better to know that also. i love my baby girl and my 8 year old female pug also loves her too.

well when i say she is fine, i mean the Dr doesnt seem to think it major. to me she is fine when she is fine. next couple days will tell.

I hear ya..... i so hope it was just something she did not agree with. keep us posted

How is she doing today ? Good to know it wasn't a blockage or anything...

It could be something in the food that is not agreeing with her. How much are you feeding her? If Jax ears too much he will get loose stool.

well i woke at 4:00am, feed her and her pug sister there early breakfast. they both went outside and to my amazement they both did there duty. i wasnt expecting my little Olivia do go for a few days, the Dr said she would more than likely become constipated for a few days, but she went fine, not to say she still might become constipated, but as of this morning she is back to what appears to being balanced out. she is on = Prescription Diet / Digestive Care, canned food. one more day then ill start mixing your dry food, Taste of the Wild, back into system and see how it goes.

Your vet could've just given you some meds and a probiotic, not a prescription diet.

Since she's not as bad with a different food, it seems like Taste of the Wild isn't a good fit for your girl.

well sure enough as soonn as i started mixing in the Taste of the Wild for small breed her stool started becoming loose. day two and even looser. the vet put her on Hill's Prescription Diet i/d Canine Digestive care Canned Food. thats what im mixing the taste of the wild or small breed with. when she was just on the Hill's Prescription Diet i/d Canine Digestive care Canned Food her stool got back to normal in just a day. my only other thought is to get her back on the taste of the wild for puppies, that she didnt have any problems with. waiting for the vet to call and see what she recommends.

I would say it's something in the Taste of the Wild not agreeing with her. I suggest trying a different food/protein. Hills prescription food is not a very food.

well she was raised on Taste of the Wild = High Prairie for puppies, than the Taste of the Wild Appalachian Valley, which is new for Taste of the Wild. thinking maybe Taste of the Wild High Prairie for adult. looks like the same ingredients. both High Prairie, puppy and adult, are roasted venison and roasted bison. whereas the Appalachian for small breed has venison and garbanzo beans.

Hello!
I can recommend that proved from my practice.
If diarrhea is necessary to provide food where a lot of salmon and potatoes, and no cereals. And there are very good food Royal Sanin gastro for puppies and adult dogs have. you can quickly go to feed this food and a chair is formed quickly.

Royal Canin is a very bad food to feed, for numerous reasons, including their high sugar content and low quality ingredients.

You can also do bland diet to settle her system.... How old is she again?
