feeding questions

So we feed a raw food diet, and I am trying to get my pup to eat twice a day so we can make potty training more consistent, but she seems to prefer to *want* to graze all day because the breeder let her free feed before we got her.
I feed twice a day now, once in the morning and once in the evening, with snacks in between, any tips on getting her to eat her food in the morning and not be hungry during the day?

How old is she? If she is under 6 months of age, you can feed 3 times a day if you are able to.

Jax is going on 6 years old and I honestly can’t remember how much I fed him when he was a puppy.

I find it easiest to covert their current weight into ounces to figure out percentage. For example if a pup is 12 weeks old and weighs 8.4 lbs, it would look like this
8.4 x 16= 134.4
134.4 x 0.08= 10.752 oz per day
or approximately 3.5 oz, three times daily

Keep in mind that it’s just a guideline and somewhere to start. Each pup is different.

You can do it either way. 10.8 oz is more than I feed my 23 lb adult. Adults typically get 2-3% of their weight. Sometimes gauging projected adult weight can be difficult.
