My 7 month old female Frenchie has started pooing and peeing in the house at night.
She was fully house trained at 3 months so this is a complete shock.
I have put paper down by the back door but she ignores that and just goes where it suits her.
She knows she has done wrong because when I get up at 6.30 am she hangs her head and gets in the cat's bed or buries her face in a cushion.
Any advice greatly appreciated...thanks

I'm not much of a dog expert but if it happened to me a few times, and I hadn't made any changes like new food, new baby in the house etc. I would cage the dog overnight.

I would crate her at night and anytime you are gone. When you are at home, keep her confined to the room you are in. Go back to basics with her. If she is not spayed yet, she could also fixing to come into heat, and that would explain that also.

I have to get up twice in the night for a wee myself, so last night each time I got up....2.30 and 4am I put Bella outside.
For the first time in 2 weeks I had a nice smell to greet me when I got up at 6.30 and no mess anywhere.
I will keep this up and see what happens, Bella was happy to see me because she knew she would get a fuss and a treat.
I will only cage her as a last resort as she decided at 5 months she didn't like it so has been sleeping in the lounge with the cat ever since.
The advice is greatly appreciated....and the cage will make an appearance if this fails
