Growing up I had a small glass Frenchie set... I found it at my grandparents and its survived all of these years I've played with it. It clearly stoked the fire of a full blown Frenchie obsession!

Where did your obsession start?

It's so ugly but so cute! Look at them!

YES I STILL HAVE IT!

That's too cool, and to last all those years, and still looks good. :)

Yes, I have it on my mantle. Only one ear got broken, and I have no idea how long it was in my grandparents possession before I found it at their house!

That's neat!!

I've been obsessed for many years now. Here's my story....

After falling in love with the Frenchie's smooshiness, I contacted a local breeder who was releasing an adult male that was not show-material. We met, she approved of me, and I took my new Frenchie, Misto, home. Well, immediately after getting home, I had a bit of "buyer's remorse" and started second guessing my decision to add a third dog to the family. I felt I was getting in over my head and actually made myself physically ill with the stress. I immediately called the breeder and explained my change of heart, and so I drove Misto back to the breeder the next day. (She was glad I did, and Misto never left her again.)

Flaky, I know. I knew I wanted a third dog, but wasn't sure I was ready for the commitment, so I figured, Why don't I foster a dog instead? And so I began fostering, both Boston terriers and Frenchies. I've fostered 14 Frenchies now!

Cool that you still have it!

I love all dogs but I've always been partial to bulldogs and other brachy dogs. I love their unique look and clownish personalities.

blushy That ornament is so precious! :havemyheart:

I believe mine started in very early age when I fancied the famous bat-eared movie stars :blush2:
That also explains by my two previous dogs...papillons.

I too obsess with gremlins! I have the gizmo furby from when it originally was released! If I push Titans ears down to the sides he looks JUST like a gremlin haha!

The 2 smallest dogs on the ornaments remind me so much of Is & T! It's hilarious!

blushy Awww...right you are! Like Isa & little T. That must have been an omen...
You have been doomed since the beginning :)

Mine started when I was at the dog park one day with my two Golden Retrievers Kodi and Penny. We were playing and in came these two little black brindle bundles of joy. I had not ever seen a frenchie up close so I went to investigate as I was very curious about this breed. Well, I fell in love with the male. She rescued him and he was the SWEETEST boy I had ever laid eyes and hands on. He was all kisses and snuggles. I have been in love with the breed ever since but it was not until later in life that I could afford these little piggies. They are quiet expensive! I had always rescued my Goldens and spent about 400 for them. So forking over 3K for a puppy was foreign to me and I really love to rescue. But if I was going to spend that kind of money I wanted a puppy. I will never regret my decision to get Ollie. He has TONS of issues (severely allergic to all kinds of things, broke his elbow, bad back that will get worse with age) but he is the sweetest and most gorgeous boy. Batman well, he's my second heart dog and while I love Ollie, there is a special bond there and I think my Kodi (RIP) spirit lives in my little batman. I will alwasy love the Goldens, but I have transitioned to Frenchies and will probably always have 2.

That's a special little trinket you have.
Our obseession with frenchies started after the breeder we got our bull terriers (RIP Molly, Terri & Boomer) from switched over to breeding frenchies. She was having some health issues and could no longer manage the strong breed as she is in a wheelchair. I felt it was time for us to "downsize" as well. Stella was our 5th dog we have purchased from her over the past 25 years. I really adore the breed and they are sooooooo easy compared to a bull terrier. I will always love both breeds though.

Such great frenchie connections!
I doggysat a frenchie when I was growing up, his name was Rocco. Rocco had the best personality, he loved to chase balls and bark at waves. I loved his life jacket he'd wear to go swimming. I knew then that once I was old enough and could afford it I would get my own french bulldog!
