Does anyone here live in LA? Looking for some great day care recommendations in LA. I don't want to leave Carrot during the day, but it would be nice for her to get some socialization. But I don't trust day cares in general!

I'm not in the area but daycares can be great as long as you do your research and find a reputable one. Jax has been going to daycare since he was a puppy and he absolutely loves it and I trust them 100%.

Have you looked on Yelp?

I think I've asked about this before, but do you worry about Jax over doing it? Carrot doesn't seem to have an off button when it comes to playing with other dogs. I worry she will just go, go, go until she drops dead! Unless someone makes her take a time out.

I guess I don't worry about it. He's been at daycare for up to 8 hours before. They are familiar with the smushy faces and on hot days, they get cooling bandannas and play in the water. I have no idea if Jax takes breaks or not but can ask next time he goes. I've never had an issue. He is exhausted when he comes home but a tired pup is a happy pup! I'm pretty sure he would be devastated if he didn't get to go anymore. When I go to pick him up, he doesn't want to leave sometimes.

I agree that a tired pup is a happy pup! That's why I'm looking to tire Carrot out. We went to the beach over the Fourth of July and she had the best time romping on the beach with the other dogs. Made me wish I lived by the beach full time.

Need to stop being such a helicopter mom!!!

As long as you find a reputable daycare and you trust them with your baby, there shouldn't be a problem. If you find a couple possibilities, just go in and ask to see the facilities, ask about their experience with the breed, ask a million questions to know if you would be comfortable leaving Carrot there.

My daughter lives in Los Angeles and although she doesn't send her dog to daycare she has had a great experience using Wag Instant Dog Walkers. They're great if you get hung up and need help quickly walking or feeding.

I tried using Wag but Carrot isn't great when there's only one person walking her. First time I tried wag, they only got to the end of the block!

I would search Yelp for daycare in your area and start from there. Read reviews, see if there are pictures and then if you find any that look good, go and visit the facilities and ask questions.

I don't live there so no recommendation, but I do not like dog parks and most doggy day cares, especially for a pup. Too easy for them to get hurt by an aggressive dog. Plus with the canine flu going around bad right now I would definitely be very careful where I take him. Maybe try to find some Frenchie owners by you and have a little get together.
