does nayone have any input to why my frenchy has 2 small bald spots on her back???
We have fed the same food, Earthborn sonce we got her at 6 weeks and she is now 9 months...
This started about maybe 3 weeks ago...I was thinking it may be some allergy and would giving her benydryl help ???

My husband thought maybe thought we should take her to the vet but she is having no problems except that and i dont want to spend loads of money trying to figure it out and they are royal canin fans do I figure they will go right for the food being the problem.

I have had her on a couple different canned foods but now am sticking to merrick which is rated very well. We only give her maybe 2 tablespoons of canned with her dry....

Thank you for any help!!!

Can you post a picture of the spot?

Also, is it dry/flaky or moist in anyway?

Just updating...took Moolah my frenchy to the vet and came up with it must be an allergy and giving benydryl ....did a skin scraping and it showed nothing.
the only other thing they can do is go to steroids and Im not going there....
She really is not scratching or chewing at all sooooo ....kind of frustrating...

Does she play with other dogs? Hudson doesn't get bald spots but our neighbor Frenchie loses the hair where another dog plays a little too rough with him. It doesn't bother him or itch, so it could possibly be that.

If the spots keep coming back or if he gets more, I would change his food, as most allergies come from food.

^^^^^ agreed! Even though no previous issue with the food, it can just start up one day

Most likely a form of dermatitis, a good antibacterial and anti fungal shampoo, and good supplement should help clear it up and keep the skin in good condition. Do you use any oils or supplements currently?

No dont use any oils or supplements....what would be a good one???

coolcat46 Right now I'm using coconut oil (pure unrefined) from Costco, but I will switch back to grizzly salmon oil too. I'm also using the coconut oil on the nose- helping make them smooth again.

Adding oil (either salmon or coconut) will really help the skin and coat. I prefer salmon but some dogs are allergic to salmon.

The supplement I use is Nuvet Plus and that has awesome stuff as well as natural antihistamine in it.
