Hello,
I have a 2 year old brindle Frenchie named Agador. A year ago he had to undergo a ultrasound as he ingested something poisonous. We did not find out what it was unfortunately. He was shaved from one side, under belly, and to the other side. The hair has yet to grow back. I have tried omega 3 in his food. Applied Eqyss rebuilder every 3 days or so. Any suggestions? He is in good health and the veterinarian at Banfield cannot verify the reason. I really need some help. Thank you.

Jax got an area shaved in April for an allergy test and barely has little peach fuzz growing back. I'm thinking it is going to take quite awhile before it grows back. Has any of Agador's fur come in?

I know it takes weeks, sometimes months, but a full year is strange.... i have no idea, but please share with us if you do find out the cause

I'm not sure either. I would think after a year it would have grown back already.

Thank you for your replies. He has "peach fuzz" growing back but you still see the shave lines. He recently was diagnosed with food allergies after scratching his neck til it was raw. So now his neck is bald in some spots. Finished the Mega Tek rebuilder but his hair has not grown back since being shaved. He is still happy and healthy now since we switched him to Hills Z/D Utra. The vet thinks it could be thyroid related but could not be sure. Still looking for a solution.

Melatonin may be worth a try, along with some oil in his food. Hills z/d probably isn't the best for his coat but if it's keeping his allergies at bay that is good. Salmon or coconut oils are great for skin and coat.
