Heat cycles

Hi everyone! My female frenchie is already 1 yr 2 mths and she has yet had her first heat. Is this normal? I read something briefly on silent heats. Anyone with such experience would like to share? I am thinking of spaying her but was advised that it would be better to do it after her first heat cycle.

Her first cycle could have been a light cycle, and she should be coming into heat again in the next few months. She is old enough to go ahead and spay if you wish.

I'm glad you asked this question!!! Piper is just over a year as well and hasn't had her first heat either.

Actually I vividly remembered she bled briefly for 2 hours when she was 7 months old. I remember I went to buy some babies underwear and when I came home, the bleeding stopped. So maybe it is like why [MENTION=4]davidh[/MENTION] mentioned light cycle?
