Hi, My name is Lisa and I am new to the forum. We have recently got our Blue boy "Stitch " Stitch.jpg

I have loads of questions as this is our first frenchie so will be posting shortly .. looking forward to hearing back from you all.

Lisa :)

Hi Lisa & Stitch, from another Lisa in Scotland!

He is soooooo cute! How old is he? There are so many helpful people here, and so much info in the older posts that you'll never be stuck.

Can't wait to see more pics of Stitch!

Hey Lisa !

Are you from Aberdeen , we live in Elrick !!!!

How old is Dexter ? Stitch is just 10 weeks on Tuesday. Poorly boy today though - he has had sickness and diarrhoea - think he has been eating his own poo !!!

We were giving his last feed at 7.30pm ish and bedding him about 9pm....pooing in his crate and eating it as only smears left !! Brought his last feed back to 6pm tonight to try and get him to go to the loo before bed - hopefully will help !!

Lisa :)

No way! We can have a play date haha!! Dexter is 7 months now. Will be great to have someone to share local Frenchie info with!

Oh dear..... Do you feed Stitch kibble? When Dexter was tiny, we would put him to bed about 11ish and give him 3 or 4 bits of kibble to make sure there was something in his stomach so he wasn't hungry, as he would throw up in the middle of the night and eat it..... It helped a lot.

Do you do a 3am toilet trip? That helps too. Painful for you of course, but stops the majority of peeing and pooing in bed.

Hope tonight goes better for you - poo eating is just awful!!!

Hello! Wow he is adorable. Welcome to the forum :)

Hey ....sorry for the late reply. No he is on a raw diet. He was okay Sunday into Monday morning ( No poo in crate) but it happened again last night and he was sick / diarrhoea again this morning :-(
I have called the vet and they are giving me some tablets that will make his poo bitter so will stop him eating it. (hopefully !)

I don't get up in the night and he doesn't make any noise either. I will try the tablets and bringing his last feed forward and see how I get on but yeah might have to do a early morning toilet trip - yuk !! I do get up with him at 6am - we are early to bed people but also early rises.

Thanks for you advice

Lisa :)

What a handsome little man!

Welcome Stitch! Such a handsome little fella!
Small puppies normally cannot hold for the entire night yet, have you noticed around what time he goes during night? Maybe to take him outside once during the night before the accident happens might do the trick. Yes, it is painful, but it will last only a short period and it will be worth while.

Puppies really are like small babies. I also recall our "baby-time" when after every few hours we had to get up and take the little one out. Around 3-4am if I remember correctly. After a short while they can hold better and you do not have to take them out that often...especially night time. This will also be good for house training and they will learn quicker that toilet is outside :)

I hope you will get the diarrhoea in control soon, since it can dehydrate the puppy quite fast.

btw, does Stitch have diarrhoea only in the night/morning after eating poop, or does he have loose stool throughout the day?

Welcome to the site and so glad you joined us. Your baby is too handsome.
