Hi, newish frenchie mom here! Today is 12 weeks since we have had our boy Coors, and today is actually his 2nd birthday! It's been a rollercoaster ride for the last 12 weeks. We got him from a family who took him back to the breeder, as they could not care for him. My husband and I think he was abused in some way, and definitely malnourished. He was not neutered, so we just got him neutered last week. He clearly has something going on with his right eye, as it's on and off green and goopy. He also spits up, especially after drinking water too fast.
I am very concerned with his health. Like I mentioned he was neutered last week, yesterday I noticed that his balls were extremely large, red and hot. I contacted the doctor and sent two pictures, and they said it was fine. This morning, they are even bigger. He has been shaking, wouldn't eat breakfast, and has had diarrhea several times this morning. He also has been scratching at our floor mats, which is new. I googled it, and it says it could be a sign of medical distress. I called the vet first thing, and they had an opening late this afternoon. I have been reading online, that it could be a scrotum hematoma, and of course my mind goes to the worst! Has anyone ever experienced this with their frenchie?

welcome an thank you for giving him a loving home. the eye is probably conjunctivitis - did you vet check the eye while he was there, he will need some drops to help it heal. Spitting up after drinking could be a sign of an elongated palate, have you had your vet evaluate it ?
As for the ball sack... I've never experienced this, I would be at the vet to ensure it is not infected.
You also might want to look for a secondary vet for second opinions.
