HELP CLOE
Hi everyone, we are Elena and Gabriella, and we are reaching out with heavy hearts for our beloved Cloe, a sweet 8-year-old French Bulldog.
Last month, we noticed Cloe accusing pain really randomly while she was doing different activities (playing, eating, sleeping). We have monitored her for few days and then decided to take an appointment with our vet, where they gave her a painkiller by injection and also a treatment by pills and advised us to do an MRI if the pain was persisting.
Unfortunately, once we got her home, the pain became unbearable. She was screaming from the pain and barely managing to walk. Her life changed drastically from that day, and our life too, with her.
On the 10th March she underwent the MRI test laboratory and on the 13th we have received the below result: "At the cervical site in correspondence with the C3 - C4 space, attenuation of the ventral subarachnoid space is detected, the disc appears partially degenerated with a reduction in the volume of the nucleus pulposus. The spinal cord has a slight meningeal imprint. At the thoraco-lumbar site, a slightly compressive L2-L3 disc protrusion is noted.
Comment: MRI picture compatible with degeneration of C3-C4 and L2-L3 protrusion slightly compressive on the spinal cord."
The specialist advised to perform spinal surgery for IVDD as soon as possible, her risk to be paralyzed is high as she has 2 hernias on both C3-C4 and L2-L3.
Now, Cloe is under medical treatment, to release her from the pain. But time to time she cry and she is in visible pain, looking at us with her innocent eyes, without understanding what's happening.
Against us, there is the fact that in the small island there isn't any clinic or hospital for pet that can perform this surgery, forcing us to go to Italy (Sicily).
The surgery and hospitalization costs, along with upcoming rehabilitation and post-operative care, are a huge financial challenge for us. The surgery and the first two days of hospitalization will cost around €4,000, with additional post-operative care and physiotherapy expenses.
We kindly ask you to keep sharing and supporting Cloe’s journey. Every donation, big or small, makes a difference. Thank you All and God bless you.
