Wally and Uma have recently gotten popular on IG with a lot of friends that have started to send them little homemade bowties, bows, etc. I would love to reciprocate with something homemade of my own but I am not crafty. I inherited a sewing machine years ago but I have no clue how to use it.

Then I came up with the idea that maybe I should bake dog cookies since I do know how to bake pretty well. Does anyone have any good dog cookie recipes they would like to share? I found some online but I would like to hear from anyone here that has tried baking their own dog cookies. I even just bought a bone shaped cookie cutter set from Amazon so all I need is a good recipe or 2.

Awww how fun! Unfortunately we don't have any recipes....most have some ingredient my dogs are allergic too. I've used a dehydrator for treats though (chicken, salmon, green beans, etc) Hopefully someone else will chime in.

Absolutely! I actually posted this recipe here before... below is the thread! I also make these for the plethora of frenchie birthdays we go to, and package them up all nice for the birthday boy/girl. They've been a huge success every time!

Last week at the dog park, a woman had some homemade treats with her... Rico went bananas over them... no pun intended LOL.

Some of you may know he's quite the picky eater, so I was beyond impressed. She shared the recipe with me, I made them, and they're a resounding success! I've even been able to use it as a food topper crumbled up to get him to eat his food! Here's the recipe and a photo of my finished product! Let me know if you make them, and how it goes!

•3 cups old fashioned oats, or more, as needed

•2 ripe bananas, mashed

•1/4 cup peanut butter (I use natural no sugar added)

•1/4 cup coconut oil

DIRECTIONS:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat; set aside.

In a large bowl, combine oats, bananas, peanut butter and coconut oil. Add an additional 2 tablespoons oats at a time just until the dough is no longer sticky.

Knead the dough 3-4 times until it comes together.

Using a rolling pin, or your hands flatten the dough to 1/4-inch thickness.

Using cookie cutters, or a small glass (I used an espresso glass) cut out desired shapes and place onto the prepared baking sheet.

Place into oven and bake until the edges are golden brown, about 10-12 minutes.

Let cool completely and watch them enjoy!

I did need to use a bit of flour when I rolled out the dough and for the cookie cutter. Just a wee bit.

I think they look really great, and I'd like to eat them - never mind the dogs haha!

Wally and Uma are so funny in the background!!
