PLEASE READ THE ARTICLE ON ADOPTING A PUPPY MILL DOG BEFORE APPLYING FOR LADYBIRD

Meet Ladybird, a little love bug who is looking for a place to fly away home. This sweet creampuff started her life as a puppy mill mama and spent a short time with a family who adopted her from Cragislist. She has never had a place to call her own — will she stay with you?

She would be a wonderful companion: good with kids, good with other dogs, good attitude overall.

Ladybird is quite easygoing — first-time Frenchie people would be fine for her! She loves to snuggle and doesn’t need much exercise since she has creaky joints. Just a short stroll every day to keep everything moving. She needs more training, but she is eager to please, and she would love to spend some time learning with you! At night, Ladybird sleeps in her crate, and is content to spend time in it if she needs to be left for a short time.

This little lady has a few minor medical issues that should be monitored, namely her bad hips and knees (daily medication is required), teeth, and possible hearing loss. Her people need to be careful with her when they lift her up, and make sure that she plays safely. Any children or doggie playmates must be very gentle, as this old lady’s rambunctious days are over. She can't be carried around, even though we know that is hard for many children to resist, so please be sure to tell us about your kid(s)' experience being very gentle with dogs.

She has two major quirks: she has some anxiety during thunderstorms, and she becomes anxious right before her morning toilet, but once she has relieved herself, she is fine. After all, she has had many puppies — it can be hard for her to “hold it.” It would be best if her new human can be home to attend to her needs, or it would be great if she could go with you to the office.

As a puppy mill dog, she doesn’t know how to play with toys and is quite sensitive to angry voices or correction. She needs patience and gentleness to bring out the best in her.

Yet Ladybird is a very affectionate girl, despite her difficult life so far and she is happiest following her people around all day, if she could. She is ready to give so much love in return for a home of her own and a peaceful life in her senior years.
