Hello everybody ,Archie is my first french bulldog :) And i have some questions about him :) He is just 8 weeks old and he's very playful and active , he even learned some commands, like sit and lay down :D As you can se his ears are still down :) and they look quite big to me , i have a friend who has a little frenchie as well and his ears are smaller and are up :) He told me he is giving him some calcium, but i am not sure is right to give Archie calcium as well , because he have some in his food i feed him with Applaws puppy dog food. So what is your opinion, should i give him calcium or wait until they stend up on there own :)image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

Hi and welcome. He is just adorable! I haven't heard of that dog food before. Hopefully someone else can chime in about that. Did you see his parents when you got him?

Welcome! I never heard of that food either. Wally's ear were already up at 8 weeks old so I don't have any experience. He's a cutie, floppy ears and all!

Hi this is the food Puppy Small Medium Breed Chicken - Applaws the vet told me this is the best one currently and i have also asked in another vets clinic and again he recomended the same food :) I have seen the parents and his brothers and sisters, and two of them have already got their ears up :)

yea his very cute anyway I don't mind if his ears stay floppy :) As far as i know his mothers ears were up when she was four months :)

He is too too precious! And, I LOVE the floppy ears

Sometimes their ears flop when they are teething.

They may stand up? They may not? Archie is a cutie pie either way!

Welcome to the forum! :)

I just got my first Frenchie last week at 10 weeks and her ears were floppy. She now has one up and is working on the other one. I've heard what Blushy just said about teething and have also heard it can take a while for them to come up. I tell everyone that Bleu is a late bloomer in the ear department! :D

I don't have much experience on the ear department either, but wanted to say that Archie is so cute!! Absolutely love the first pic!

hi archie! my pup had floppy ears until he was 9 weeks old. we thought his ears would never go up either, but they did! just be patient and they'll go up on their own. :D

My breeder told me that since they are still growing that the calcium is going to their bones to support that growth. Their ears aren't quite as important or immediately necessary as other parts of their bodies so their ears just take longer to perk. She also said that the longer it takes for their ears to perk the bigger they will get.
I don't know how correct that is, but Herbie's took FOREVER to perk up and he's fine. I'd wait to give calcium or anything else, he's still a growing boy! Archie is such a cutie!

Fish's ears flopped backwards when he was a baby. They will stand eventually.

We have siblings, Olivia and Wilson. Wilson's ears were up really fast and Olivia's came up one at a time. It was SO cute. If that happens, you'll want to take lots of pics! If you want, you can add some yogurt to his food. Maybe a teaspoon.

His ears are both up :D But I haven't seen him since I am on a business trip :( I will see him on saturday :) and post some pics :D
