My frenchie has done this twice already. He was sleeping at around almost 12am and then i could feel the bed vibrating and when i went to check on him, his back legs were sort of bouncing but i dont think its his back legs actually bouncing.... it looked like his back was hunched because he was gagging but he also wasn't gagging. Looks like he was having uncontrollable movements in his back. It looked like a muscle spasm/ seizure. But the first time i took him to the emergency vet when it happended they said it might not be a seizure because he was repsonsive and still very active after it happened. And i am 100% sure it wasnt him dreaming because i know what i looks like when hes dreaming. Has anyone's frenchie done this or something similar. Any advice would be helpful please. Thank you in advance

Both times i witnessed this was after he had a stressful day. Like today he went to the Vet and got his cytopoint injection and had his nail clipped and it made him bleed and it scared him to the point he tried to escape. And fhe other time was he tried to escape while having a bath. has anyone's frenchie also repsonded like this in the middle of the night after a stressful day? Please note: After calling his name he was fine and back to normal.

Wondering if it could be spine related maybe have it checked and think about doing cold laser therapy. My guy has done laser for about 10 years to keep his spine stable

Thank you for your response! I emailed my vet and he said the gagging and back hunching can be from gastroesophageal reflux from a hernia that is common in French Bulldogs. He might have a mild form of it. Tomorrow hes getting checked , hopefully its nothing too serious
