Ok, not sure how common frenchies swimming is...?

She is a cutie and glad they got her on video. Frenchies can swim for short periods and then just sink, so be very careful with her just jumping in, and be ready to help her if she gets tired. Plus you might want to use a good ear flush on her ears, because a lot of water can get in there and cause an ear infection. Looks like she loves the water, nice way to stay cool in the summer.

Thanks David! I had English bulldogs previously, and I'm not sure any of them can swim, so I was curious, as I never thought about lulu swimming! Yes, we'd never let her by the water on her own. I think she is just such a people person, that she couldn't resist following my nephew in! Can't wait to pick up my baby tonight!

That's awesome!! What a brave girl!!

Now you've got to keep an extra eye out. Lol.

She was having a blast! I can tell that your nephew is looking after her. He was following right behind her. Looks like she's in good hands. :)

 I had heart failure when she jumped off, :whew:

My guy will not even go near the outside if there is a chance of getting wet... hates, the rain, pool, hose anything to do with water that he is not drinking

Haha, I think it happened so fast (watching the video - - I saw it via video from ca), I didn't have time to think what might be the worst case scenario! She is sooooo itchy on her head today! I think she has bug bites? But she also has little puppy fighting scabs from scuffling with the other puppy all weekend, and now I worry that she's got issues from water in her ears... Mult times today she's been scratching her own ears and yelped in pain. I see the vet quite often (the last time what I thought was a cyst was a healthy lymph node! Oh well she needed her rabies shot anyway!), so I'm trying not to over react on this. Should I try a little benedryl for the itchiness? Maybe a bath...? Do dogs get bug bites? The bugs are horrid in northern mn!

Thanks in advance! Karla
Ps my outdoor adventurer was exhausted today and wanted to sleep on me all day... Love!

Poor girl. I would take her to the vet if she is scratching her ears and yelping. If she's got an ear infection, it won't get any better until she gets some medicine for it. Dogs can have Benadryl. The dosage that my vet recommends is 1 tsp of liquid per 10 pounds or one 25mg tablet per 20 to 22 pounds. It sounds like a lot, but the dosage for dogs is different than for people. They can have it every 8 hours as needed for itching. You could always give less and see if that helps, and if it doesn't you could increase to that dosage.
